The Role
Working closely with the executive leadership the key objectives of the role are:
- General management and leadership of the national governance, operations and workforce management of Clinical services (comprising doctors, nurses and paramedics) so that CareFlight can achieve its vision and mission with a culture of patient focus, as well as ensuring industry leading practices, efficient operations and innovative initiatives.
- Strategic planning, budget planning and implementation, financial modelling and business development for Clinical Services.
- To act as the Co-chair of the Clinical Executive ensuring the clinical governance activity of CareFlight is maintained and improved as per the national clinical governance framework.
- Strategic projects and other business development opportunities as required by the Chief Executive Officer.
Required Experience, Skills and Personal Attributes
Essential:
- 5 – 10 years’ experience in strategic operations leadership with a strong ‘hands on’ focus within a matrix organisational structure.
- Demonstrated collaborative leadership style and management experience, ideally with a healthcare or similar highly qualified workforce.
- Excellent communication skills and experience in interpersonal and relationship management, with the ability to develop strategic partnerships with diverse stakeholders, maintain confidentiality and be a trusted advisor.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work within complex political and regulatory environments to enable the organisation to achieve strategic outcomes.
- Strong capacity to initiate and drive outcomes, manage change, and sustainably plan for future needs of the organisation.
- Experience in financial modelling, budget preparation and tender preparation.
- Need for travel (if based outside the NT) to the NT approximately one (1) week every month. If based in the NT, approximately one (1) week every two months to NSW or other locations.
Desirable:
- Experience leading a part time or casual workforce with the ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with, and gain the trust and support of, highly qualified, independently minded professionals.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in clinical management and / or business management and/or relevant experience.
