As General Manager Major Projects Office, you will be accountable for managing the frameworks that establish Powerlink as a large-scale developer, driving the delivery of a portfolio of significant, large-scale projects at the heart of Queensland’s energy transition. 

You will implement and maintain frameworks for project governance, controls, assurance and optimisation which underpin the delivery of all projects within the Major Projects division. This will include working closely with senior leaders across the Division and wider organisation to drive transformation and influence alignment of investment and delivery priorities through effective stakeholder management. 

• Build and lead three key functional areas of the division; Portfolio Management and Control; Assurance, Governance, Business Management and Improvement; and Construction and Delivery Optimisation. 
• Establish and manage an enterprise approach to Major Projects governance, assurance and risk management, ensuring the relevant endorsements from Executive, Board and Government.
• Work collaboratively with the Major Projects and enterprise senior leadership team to manage and influence the direction and strategic planning of the portfolio delivery; managing financial, reputational, political and portfolio risks.
• Ensure the Major Projects division is continuously outward facing across transmission and linear infrastructure industries, pursuing world-class innovation and methodologies in project management and construction.
• Lead the development and direction of Major Project’s project management frameworks and systems, aligned to its strategy of establishing Powerlink as a large-scale developer. 

The community you will join: 

Reporting to the Executive General Manager Major Projects, you will translate business strategy into operational plans with a commitment to delivery. This will include implementing, embedding and maturing systems and processes and building an industry-leading, continuous improvement culture.

Your expertise:

• Degree level qualification in Engineering, Business, Finance or other discipline that is relevant to the Major Projects portfolio or demonstrated experience in a similar field.
• Experience in management and leadership across disciplines and directing multiple, diverse teams in support of major infrastructure projects. 
• Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy into operational plans and drive enterprise transformation and change. 
• Demonstrated ability to drive the development and implementation of project management standards, methodology and ongoing compliance of control systems within a complex, matrix organisation. 
• Proven success in collaboration and leadership in the support of program management plans and balance these needs to ensure the best for business outcomes.
