The Illawarra Sports Stadium is a not-for-profit organisation established in 1992. We oversee operations of Berkeley's own multi-purpose indoor sport and recreation Stadium.
We are proud to give back to the community through our community sport programs. Job Description:
The General Manager (GM) of Illawarra Sports Stadium is a strategic leader responsible for driving revenue growth, ensuring safety and compliance, overseeing key projects, and reporting to the board of directors. This pivotal role plays a central part in securing financial support, building strategic partnerships, managing a small staff team, maintaining safety standards, and fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive revenue growth through grant identification, sponsorship, and partnership development.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with corporate sponsors, ensuring maximum value and exposure.
- Develop and maintain the stadium's business plan, aligning goals with organizational objectives.
- Lead HR processes, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
- Oversee safety, compliance, and emergency response plans to ensure a secure environment for all.
- Manage major stadium projects and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, the board and political representatives.
- Report regularly to the board of directors on financial performance, grant utilization, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, Marketing, Human Resources, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Demonstrated experience of leadership in sports and entertainment industry.
- Proven track record in revenue generation, sponsorship, and business plan development.
- Strong understanding of HR processes, safety protocols, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of grant application processes, marketing strategies, and stakeholder management.
