Join us and be part of a story you'll love to tell.About the RoleThe General ManagerRetirement Living is responsible for ensuring high occupancy rates, strong sales results, high resident satisfaction; compliance and adherence to legislation and regulation; developing and implementing best practice systems and processes and ensuring cross-referrals and integration of services to those residents. Specifically, you will:
- Align personal leadership behaviour and ethical standards with the WMQ Model of Care, the Wesley Charter and Wesley Mission Queensland’s Vision, Mission and Values
- In partnership with the Sales and Marketing team lead the delivery of the Retirement Living sales targets and occupancy rates, inclusive of new and resales, maintaining high occupancy and achieving required sales values and rates
- In conjunction with the Director of Ageing Well participate in setting and delivering on the WMQ Retirement Living strategies and the broader Ageing Well Directorate; (the Ageing Well Directorate encompasses Residential Aged Care, Community Aged Care and Retirement Living)
- Lead the Retirement Living team, driving a culture of collaboration and customer centricity to ensure service integration and referrals within home Care, allied health and residential aged care
- Deliver strong customer value to Retirement Living residents and ensuring a healthy and positive relationship with the resident committees
- Provide input into development; redevelopment and refurbishment of retirement villages and other forms of seniors housing, bringing the 'voice of the customer' to the table, hence ensuring new/refurbished product is 'fit for purpose' both today and into the future.
- Proactive in understanding resident’s changing requirements and position village service offering to meet those needs
- Be conversant in the management of associated budgets relevant to Retirement Living – General Services, Maintenance Reserve and Capital Replacement and
- Deliver strong Retirement Living portfolio financial performance and commercial returns while achieving budgets.
- Drive cross-sales into home care and support; and residential aged care
- Senior Management Experience in Retirement Living with demonstrated Development, Sales and Operations success
- Proven track record in leading and managing Retirement Living relationships for highly sought properties
- Proven track record in the coordination of integrated services for Retirement Living customers
- Excellent Retirement Living Operational skills/knowledge combined with strong strategic abilities
- Proven track record in leading and engaging teams to deliver strong financial performance (profit balance sheet and cash flow) relevant to/translatable to Retirement Living portfolio performance and asset/business management.
- High degree of knowledge of the relevant legislation and industry practice that governs provision of Retirement Living/seniors' housing services in Australia
- A solid understanding of the future trends, directions and influences and competitive landscape with Retirement Living and seniors housing and also the aged care reforms that impact this
- Must be well connected and networked in the aged care/Retirement Living industry and hence abreast of industry dynamics, changes and trends
- Excellent business acumen, high emotional intelligence, an empathy for the ageing, strong leadership ability and influencing skills
- Tertiary Qualification in relevant field/equivalent experience
- Proof of Vaccination Status as required by Legislation, Health Directives or WMQ Policy throughout employment and prior to commencement
- Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ policy
- Current Driver’s License and willingness to drive in the course of work
