About The Role:
The George Centre is seeking a General Services Officer to join their Catering department. You will work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment that strives to deliver outstanding healthcare to our patients.
As a General Services Officer, your responsibilities will include:
- Participate in every aspect of delivery of patient and doctors meals as directed
- Receive and pack away deliveries- heavy lifting may be required
- Rotation of stock
- Undertake checks on temperature controlled equipment, defrosting refrigerators, cleaning chemical cage, cool room and other kitchen cleaning
- Correct handling and storage of all food in accordance with hospital policies and legislative requirements
- Be well presented with a high standard of personal hygiene
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Must be mature and be team orientated
- Availability to work at short notice may be required
Job Requirements:
- Current Food Processing Certificate Level 1 (working towards or willing to attain)
- Prior experience in Healthcare Food Services
- Promote excellence in customer service & treat all people at the hospital as guests
- Demonstrated ability to work without supervision as well as a part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills
- Flexible to work a variety of shifts - early/late shifts & weekend work.
