General Services Officer - Catering

About The Role:

The George Centre is seeking a General Services Officer to join their Catering department. You will work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment that strives to deliver outstanding healthcare to our patients.  

As a General Services Officer,  your responsibilities will include:

• Participate in every aspect of delivery of patient and doctors meals as directed
• Receive and pack away deliveries- heavy lifting may be required
• Rotation of stock
• Undertake checks on temperature controlled equipment, defrosting refrigerators, cleaning chemical cage, cool room and other kitchen cleaning
• Correct handling and storage of all food in accordance with hospital policies and legislative requirements
• Be well presented with a high standard of personal hygiene 
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Must be mature and be team orientated
• Availability to work at short notice may be required

Job Requirements:

• Current Food Processing Certificate Level 1 (working towards or willing to attain)
• Prior experience in Healthcare Food Services
• Promote excellence in customer service & treat all people at the hospital as guests
• Demonstrated ability to work without supervision as well as a part of a team.
• Excellent time management skills
• Flexible to work a variety of shifts - early/late shifts & weekend work.
