Intrepid Geophysics (IG) (https://www.intrepid-geophysics.com) is part of the SensOre group (https://sensore.com). IG develops retail software (Intrepid 3D and Geomodeller) that is sold worldwide. This software also supports IG’s services/consulting business that provides innovative and high value services to client worldwide.
Purpose of the Geological Engineering Scientist/Client Services & Technical Support
The acquisition, interpretation, analysis and integration of geological, geospatial and geophysical data to achieve the most reliable results for exploration of fields. To support the sales and technical integration, implementation, training and understanding of GeoModeller Software with clients and potential clients.
GeoModeller is innovative and creates implicit geological models from a range of geophysical and geological datasets and can enhance models and interpretations by providing forward and joint stochastic inversion modelling. It is used by mining, oil & gas, geotechnical and groundwater industries worldwide.
GeoModeller:
• manages and quantifies uncertainty associated with single or multiple instances of a common earth model.
• provides a variety of tools such as Resource Estimation, 2D/3D geophysical and geothermal modelling,
• manages multi-scale data integration,
• integrates advanced drillhole management
• supports airborne EM inversions.
Key Responsibility Areas
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Technical sales support for GeoModeller software.
2. Client training in GeoModeller software.
3. Technical support for GeoModeller software users
4. Administrative support for licencing and renewals
5. Analyse, interpret and present information regarding locations in space & time
6. Manage, develop & distribute related software, services and equipment for time and space location identification
7. General GIS support and mapping for consulting projects
8. Undertake geoscience consulting work as part of the Services Group at IG.
9. Project management of spatial sciences data including data validation
10. Testing software (including GIS integration) and provide feedback to the development team.
11. Geological science communication via development of tutorials, manuals and website content.
12. Attend Australian and International conference, develop, write and present technical papers.
Key Role Qualifications & Experience Required
• BA Geological Engineering or similar
• Geomodeller software expertise
• 3D Modelling from geological & geophysical data
• GIS software and spatial data management
• Create high-quality reports with complex visual products
• Project management, planning, development and delivery
• Geological /Geophysical knowledge and data Interpretation
• Geological science communication
• Geoscience data management
