The
Manager of Growth & Development will:
- Lead and manage the Planning and Economic team, overseeing strategic planning, development assessment, and economic development functions
- Bring expertise and innovation to the department, fostering creativity and strategic leadership
- Manage human and financial resources effectively to achieve departmental goals
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in disciplines such as town planning, sustainable development, economics, or environmental science
- Extensive experience in strategic planning, development assessment, and/or economic development within a complex environment
- Strong business acumen, including financial management, budgetary control, and operational planning
- Demonstrated leadership in change management, fostering continuous improvement, ensuring quality customer service, staff development, and performance management
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective consultation with internal and external stakeholders, local organisations, and the community
- Ability to navigate political, economic, and social challenges and apply this knowledge to policy and strategy
- Expertise in developing and implementing community consultation strategies.
- Proficiency in strategy, marketing, communications, community consultation, and media relations
- Highly developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage complex tasks and projects within tight deadlines and minimal supervision
- Valid ‘C’ Class Driver License
