About the role:
Our Sugar Valley Lifestyle Estate is on the lookout for a Golf Course Superintendentwho is a self-starter and who leads by example. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the care and maintenance of either golf or bowling greens or similar. as a qualified and or experienced Greenkeeper You will be comfortable working within our residential and retirement village environment, interacting respectfully with our residents, staff and volunteers.
Reporting to the Village Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the Golf Course and associated machinery as well as organise volunteers to ensure that the Golf Course grounds are kept to a suitable playing standard. This will include general maintenance tasks fundamental to keeping the Golf Course in tip top condition, ensuring a safe and comfortable playing environment for our residents.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled/planned maintenance tasks within the Golf Course grounds and gardens to maintain appearance and functionality
- Maintain the visual appeal of the Golf Course to enhance player satisfaction and attract prospective new members
- Maintain cleanliness, tidiness, and proper maintenance of all equipment
- Keeping an up to date asset register and chemical register
- Prioritise and respond promptly to breakdown/repair request
- Adhere to approved roster schedules for efficient coordination of work activities
- Provide supervision, advice and some direction for the Volunteers to achieve desired outcomes
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for staff, volunteers and players.
- Execute planned and unplanned maintenance tasks to meet our service delivery goals.
- Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and families, demonstrating respect, empathy, and genuine understanding towards the needs of our aged residents.
Qualifications, skills, and experience
- Trade qualifications in an electrical services trade, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience
- Current Driver’s License
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Effective time management and organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Interpersonal skills to liaise effectively between staff, players, volunteers, Golf Club Committees and industry representatives
- Knowledge of relevant legislation related to Golf Course standards and workplace health and safety
- Willingness to obtain and NDIS Workers Screen Check and undertake a pre-employment medical assessment
