Governance and Compliance Officer
Full Time Fixed Term Position (until late November 2024)

Band 5 Salary: $76,171.43 - $87,565.78 plus 11% superannuation

The Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and professional administrator to join our Governance team at Latrobe City Council. As Governance and Compliance Officer, you will provide support for a number of Governance functions; from preparing agendas and minutes for Council meetings and committees of council to maintaining accurate public information via Council's website.
In this role, you will:
- Provide comprehensive secretariat support for Council Meetings, Briefings and the Latrobe City Trust secretariat.
- Support a range of projects and activities across the Governance Team including the 2024 Council Election and Councillor induction, advice on Governance-owned policies, Officer Authorisations, and insurance claims.
- Provide advice about and maintain public records of compliance with legislation, policy and procedures.
- Attend meetings, prepare and distribute agendas and minutes, assist with reporting and other required documentation as well as book venues and logistics.
You will need:
- Relevant Degree or diploma with transferable knowledge and/or skills for a Governance and Compliance environment, or relevant experience.
- Proven experience in a role or industry that ensures transition of skills and experience to a Local Government compliance role.
- Proven effective time management skills, including prioritising tasks and delivering agreed actions
- Attention to detail and a focus on producing high quality, accurate reports and documents.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service, including strong communication skills and a positive approach to finding joint solutions.
- Proven ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with a positive approach to change.
