Role: Governance & Compliance Officer
Location: Melbourne
Role Type: Full-time hybrid opportunity with competitive remuneration.
Role Summary: As the Governance & Compliance Officer, you'll be part of the operations, supporting board meetings, managing compliance tasks, and ensuring privacy principles are protected and secure.
Manage Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and privacy complaints, including processing requests within statutory timeframes and providing training to staff.
Centralise organisational contracts, agreements, and legal documents, while identifying areas for improvement in Governance and Compliance processes. In short, ensure all the paperwork is in order!
What makes you the right fit for this role:
Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in supporting board meetings and managing compliance tasks, would be beneficial. Experience working in a similar governance role would also be highly regarded.
Knowledge: A strong understanding of Governance and Compliance obligations, including relevant legislative and organisational requirements, is essential. Knowledge of Freedom of Information (FOI) legislation and privacy principles would be looked favourably.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Advanced knowledge of Governance and Compliance obligations.
- Previous experience in supporting Board Chair and/or Director of a Board.
- Competent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and manage concerns effectively.
- Awareness of safety protocols and ability to maintain resilience under pressure.
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
