RTO Compliance Officer

PROPOSED RATE - $80 - $90k per year (based on experience, at pro rata rate based on number of days per week worked.)

This role provides an opportunity to use your excellent compliance and administrative organisational skills to manage our compliance against the ASQA Standards for Registered Training Organisations. The RTO Compliance Officer will work closely with various stakeholders within the business, including the leadership team, trainers and assessors, technical resources, course developers, and administration personnel.
COMPLIANCE
RTO Standards
- Reviewing, managing and implementing the organisation's compliance against ASQA’s Standards for RTOs
- Developing and maintaining compliance policies and procedures
- Reviewing and approving marketing materials to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Ensuring that all government reporting requirements for the RTO activities are fulfilled within required timeframes
- Acting as the primary contact for government and regulatory bodies
- Maintaining an up-to-date compliance calendar and managing compliance tasks
Audits/Validations
- Planning, scheduling and conducting assessment validations and moderations; and actioning the findings
- Preparing for and facilitating internal audits and actioning the findings
Training and Assessment
- Ensuring all training and assessment conducted meets training package requirements
- Managing compliance applications and approval processes for new and revised courses
- Ensuring trainer matrices are implemented and maintained
- Ensuring trainer currency and professional development are recorded
ADMINISTRATION PROCESSES
- Implementing, monitoring and maintaining efficient and effective administrative systems to ensure compliance with ASQA Standards for RTO’s
- Uploading and maintaining training and assessment materials in the organisations LMS
- Ensuring training material reviews and improvements are tracked
INTERNAL TRAINING
- Delivering HR and compliance training both in-person and via Teams internally
- Managing the organisation’s HR and compliance training register
PROJECT WORK
- Play an active role in leading our Student Management System from one platform to another, providing strategic advice and recommendations, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and being a key participant in data mapping, migration testing, and ensuring seamless integration and a smooth transition experience for all users.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in compliance management, preferably within the Australian Registered Training Organisation (RTO) context
- Familiarity with regulations in the vocational education and training (VET) sector
- Project management skills to oversee compliance projects
- Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) for course delivery and compliance
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards
- Demonstrated experience in developing RTO policies, procedures and other regulatory documentation
- Demonstrated knowledge and management of audit and compliance processes within an RTO
- Proficiency in using aXcelerate (Client / Student Management System)
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Relevant certifications in compliance management or related areas are a plus
- Australian Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) is desirable
