About the role
Vasey RSL Care’s Graduate Nurse Program is a one-year program offered to newly qualified (<2 yrs) Registered Nurses (RN) who wish to transition to their new nursing career with training and support to develop their clinical and leadership skills. As part of this program, you will:
- Work 4-5 regular shifts per week at your scheduled site to apply your skills and learn on the job with the guidance of an experienced RN.
- Receive weekly education sessions through the Nursing Transition to Practice training program, which includes online sessions conducted by industry and clinical experts, access to learning materials and self-assessment. This course is completed during paid work time and is fully funded by Vasey RSL Care.
- Participate in leadership training and clinical education with Vasey RSL Care.
- Have the support of a designated workplace mentor, as well as your Residential Manager.
- Have periodic check-ins with the HR Advisor – Learning & Development for any questions.
This program complements Vasey RSL Care’s staff education program and operates as a 12-month maximum term contract of employment.
About you
To be successful in this position, you will be kind, person-centred and committed to delivering excellent clinical care.
To be considered, you will be:
- A qualified RN (within last 2 years)
- Eligible to register as an RN with AHPRA
- Committed to your learning and development
- Passionate about specialising in Aged Care
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Check and provide proof of rights to work in Australia
