Blue Lake Milling (BLM) are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and reliable individual to join our Weighbridge Team as a Grains Operations Officer. This position will be full-time, 8:00am to 4:00pm (unless otherwise agreed)
Location: Bordertown SA 5268 (occasional travel to Padthaway grain site)
Reporting to the Grains Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for undertaking such tasks as:
- Comply with BLM Work, Health, and Safety (WHS) procedures, taking care of oneself and colleagues to promote a proactive safety culture.
- Operate a variety of machinery involved in the grain receival process, such as the tractor auger combo, tubulators, and JCB loader.
- Assist in the fumigation and cleaning of silos at Bordertown and Padthaway sites.
- Operate forklift to facilitate the movement of products around the site, including loading stockfeed customers and feeding the Biogas plant.
- Perform sampling and testing on incoming grains to verify Quality specifications are met.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of Quality documentation.
- Assist and effectively communicate requirements to growers and transport providers.
- Support BLM in maintaining Quality standards and ensuring product safety and legality.
- Maintain general cleanliness and organisation of the work environment, including cleaning grain pits, emptying filtration, and cleaning grain spills.

- You prioritise compliance with WHS and Quality standards, considering the impact of the grain receival process on other business operations down the line.
- You can effectively communicate and engage with individuals from diverse educational, expertise, and background levels.
- You possess basic computer skills and are motivated to learn other software used in the grain receival process.
- You have a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a strong attention to detail.
- You are mechanically minded and enjoy operating various types of equipment.
- You are willing to undertake additional training as necessary.
- You have a current forklift licence.
- Although not required, prior experience with farm machinery is advantageous.
