Position: Graphic Designer

About the role

The Graphic Designer role includes the entire art process of defining requirements, visualizing and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts, images and brand guidelines. They will be the one to shape the visual aspects of print and digital into content creation deliverables. You are a Graphic Design “all rounder”.

Their art graphics should align with brand guides and communicate the correct messaging. For this, they will need to have a creative flair and a strong ability to translate requirements into design.

This role is for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for delivering great work, and a willingness to collaborate with a great team of designers. The role is primarily print-based, however, some level of digital expertise is encouraged.

You’ll be responsible for

Reporting to the Studio Manager, some (but not all) of the role’s responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of assorted print and digital projects and activities across a variety of clients with varied creative and technical requirements.
  • Design and produce marketing communications digital pieces for a wide variety of clients from concept to completion.
  • Collaborate with the creative director, creative team, account managers and clients to develop creative solutions and then translate those solutions through a variety of channels.
  • Master brand guidelines from basic collateral to strategic campaigns.
  • Having strong attention to detail to check colour, copy, text formatting, and images for print production.
  • Support studio manager in the management of digital content creation.
  • Share skill sets with other designers and mentor junior staff members.
  • Ensure quality control for print and digital publications.

Experience, skills, and expertise

We are looking for someone who:

  • 3+ years of experience of design experience in an in-­house creative department or design firm.
  • Strong creative, organisational, problem solving and time-­management skills.
  • An adaptable and quick learner. Must be able to apply style guides creatively while upholding brand identity for all clients.
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with HTML and motion graphics is a plus.
  • Comprehensive understanding of digital marketing and print advertising including current trends, user experience best practices, responsive web design, display and social media.
  • An excellent portfolio of work digital and print.
  • Possesses strong conceptual skills, a high-level sense of design, layout and typography, and a broad thinker who is able to offer a variety of design solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Outstanding written and oral communication skills are crucial in this constantly changing and fast-paced agency environment with daily production deadlines.
