The Role:
As the Group Accountant reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in steering the financial course of our organisation. You'll be responsible for orchestrating the financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment. This role demands a proactive approach, keen financial acumen, and a passion for driving impactful change
- Collaborate with the CFO in preparing and executing financial plans, including budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
- Mentor, coach and lead the Finance team
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, encompassing billing, payroll, accounts receivable/payable, and general ledger management.
- Lead the preparation and presentation of timely, accurate financial reports and analyses for management decision-making.
- Leading change and process enhancements across the organization
- Supporting month-end and year-end close process
- Manage cash flow effectively, forecasting and planning for future financial needs.
- Drive process improvements and efficiencies across finance and accounting functions.
- Liaise with external auditors, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and statutory filings.
- Support M&A activities, including due diligence, integration, and financial analysis.
- Driving cost efficiencies throughout the business
- Documenting business processes and accounting policies for enhanced internal controls
- Ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and reviewing tax lodgments
- Supporting financial analysis and modeling for future acquisitions
The ideal candidate:
The successful candidate will be CA/CPA qualified, with significant relevant experience in a hands-on Finance leadership role. In particular, the successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate excellent communication and management skills
- Have the ability to manage rapidly changing priorities in a highly dynamic environment.
- Are a motivated self-starter, with strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and develop a team.
- Be a strong performance manager with drive and enthusiasm to succeed as part of a team and deliver outstanding results.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to win the respect and trust of colleagues and customers
- Be an excellent communicator with strong written and presentation skills
- Have strong ethical and professional values
- Experience with MYOB Advanced preferred (but not essential)
