Our client is a leading resources business listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX). With a leading presence in their area of specialism, they are seeking a top quality person to join their team as Group Finance Manager
The Role
The Group Finance Manager will be a key member of the finance team, responsible for overseeing the financial operations and consolidated reporting of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical accounting (Public practice audit background preferred) with good working knowledge of ASX Listed requirements. The role is ideally suited to either someone stepping out of audit as a Manager/Senior Manager or someone with audit experience previously, who is looking to take their commercial career to the next level
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting:
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with ASX and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate the preparation of the company's annual report and liaise with external auditors.
- Oversee the consolidation of group financial statements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Work closely with the CFO on the annual budgeting process, including the preparation of departmental budgets and consolidation into the group budget.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to enhance performance and support career growth.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as a key point of contact for financial matters with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Communicate financial performance and strategic initiatives to the Board of Directors and executive management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and CA or CPA qualification
- Proven experience with ASX-listed companies.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- High proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
