The Role
The Group Financial Accountant is a key position within the Group Finance team, championing corporate finance reporting and governance obligations. This position will require a strong blend of technical experience and the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with all levels within the business to promote transparency and integrity in financial reporting and analysis.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead month-end close, ensuring accurate and timely financial reports, including consolidated statements and account reconciliations.
- Assist in quarterly board report preparation.
- Ensure GST, ITR, and OSR compliance; oversee tax filings and maintain tax records.
- Manage financial reporting obligations and monitor regulatory changes.
- Oversee treasury, including cash management, payment processes, and bank compliance.
- Facilitate year-end audit, preparing necessary documentation and financial statements.
- Provide guidance on transactional finance and assist in insurance and asset valuation processes.
- Support Group Finance Manager with additional tasks as needed.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, along with CA or CPA qualification. They should have proven experience in a financial accounting role, emphasising month-end reporting, complex consolidations, and financial analysis. You will have exposure to corporate tax, GST, financial reporting regulations, and treasury. A strong understanding of accounting principles and practices is required, along with experience in managing year-end audit processes and preparing annual financial statements. The candidate must also exhibit excellent leadership and communication skills, and demonstrate advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
