As a result of a successful growth, our client is seeking to appoint a Financial Accountant to join the team to provide exceptional accounting and financial support, including financial statements, financial data, balance sheets, reporting, budgeting, risk management, cash flow analysis and departmental management reporting to identify ways to manage costs in line with accounting principles and practices. The Financial Accountant will also take ownership of the end-of-month processes from data extraction to Trial Balance.
Reporting to the Senior Company Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
- Manage the timely and accurate collation of Business and Operating Unit financial and accounting information and preparation of required financial reports, complying with internal and external controls and statutory reporting requirements
- Analyse, interpret, reconcile and communicate financial information from multiple sources and business units
- Provide financial modelling and analysis to support the Operating Unit(s), as required
- Review, monitor and analyse general accounting processes to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Collaborate with Business and Finance teams to support overall Divisional goals and objectives
- Participate in the budget process to ensure accurate completion within established timeframes
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively liaise with people at all different audience levels in an organisation
- Act in line with the leadership model actively contributing to creating a high-performance, values-based company culture
- Deliver the highest standard in professional conduct, personal presentation and company image
- Contribute to maintaining a respectful workplace for all employees
- Minimum 3 + years’ experience as an Accountant, in a corporate or commercial environment
- Excellent organisational and time-critical skills – delivery and outcomes-focused
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, or Business or related discipline
- CA or CPA qualified or near completing of CA or CPA – e.g. maximum 2 subjects left to complete
- Experience in Financial systems management Accountancy e.g. financial transaction analysis, AP, AR reconciliations, invoicing, customer statement, reconciling company accounts e.g. bank accounts, inter-company accounts, trade debtors, payables, general ledger, asset accounts and payroll
- Experienced with Balance Sheet End of Month Reconciliation, Deviation Analysis and substantiation of monthly variances
- Experienced preparing annual budgets
- Experienced with end of month journals
- Preparation of draft monthly financials
- Experienced in managing and processing Account Payable, Payroll, Accounts Receivable
- Experience in inter-departmental financial reporting e.g. Sales, Senior Management, Production and Distribution and following up on invoices
- Experienced in ensuring company files in the systems are backed up timely and regularly
- Filing of all documentation in PDF Format
- High accounting standards and high attention to detail
- Excellent numeracy, literacy, accuracy and precision
- Excellent Microsoft Office 365 Business applications and database software experience
- Experienced with Reckon-hosted software
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite products
