About the role

As a Group Financial Accountant at EIA Group, you'll be responsible for supporting financial reporting to stakeholders including internal business unit management and external audit relationships through strong balance sheet management, financial control and governance activities across the businesses.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting financial reporting to stakeholders including internal business unit management and external audit relationships through strong balance sheet management, financial control and governance activities across the businesses.
  • Review and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, including documentation of the accounting judgements applied to the treatment of various business transactions and resulting accounting impacts.
  • Contribute technical accounting advice and ensure the correct financial processing that supports day to day financial management for the respective businesses is undertaken in the general ledger.
  • Recommending improvements to financial control and reporting frameworks and processes to support the efficient and effective preparation of financial statements for the group and its subsidiaries.
  • Intercompany transaction management and contribute to capital management and treasury and banking operations.
  • Transaction management for acquisitions, changing consolidation treatment, shareholder restructuring

Requirements

We want to hear from people who have:

  • Relevant accounting qualification from membership of professional Accounting bodies (CA ANZ, CPA)
  • At least 6 years of financial reporting and Accounting experience.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge including the application of IFRS.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting and operational processes and accounting systems/applications.
  • M&A experience beneficial.
  • Experience with general ledger applications including Xero or similar.
  • Commitment and proven ability to provide a high level of customer service
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with business managers
