What is the role?
The General Manager People & Culture is core member of the Executive Team with responsibility for the creation and maintenance of strategies that result in an exceptional employee experience and realisation of BWI’s strategy through the actions of its people.
As a human resources and transformational change leader with deep organizational development and employee relations expertise you will be an influential part of our committed executive, focused upon positively shaping our organisation into the future, and providing robust and contemporary advice.
You will have a proven track record of leading transformational change and inherently know what can be achieved through an engaged and skilful workforce. Your experience in operating in a global context will stand you in good stead as we continue to grow.
To be successful in this role you will need to regularly ‘roll up your sleeves’ and get things done. You will have the support of a passionate HR team working alongside you, and located in Australia, South Korea, and the US, as well as the support of GUD’s Chief People Officer when you need it.
The role reports to the BWI Group Chief Executive.

Working closely with the Chief Executive and the wider Executive Leadership Team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering an integrated people strategy in support of BWI’s overarching strategic plan that includes:
- Safety & Wellbeing leadership
- Strategic workforce planning
- Transformation & change leadership
- Organisation Development
- Talent development & succession planning
- Ensuring our operating model is fit for purpose
- High Performance development
- Employee relations
- Employee engagement
What we need you to bring to the role
An exceptional communicator, you have a natural flair for engaging and connecting to people from all walks of life. You are comfortable and confident in your ability to provide counsel & feedback whilst ensuring the job gets done.
Your solid OD and L&D experience will compliment your credible style of leadership. Relevant qualifications and demonstrated background working across HR functions is essential.
Ideally, you will also possess the following:
- Strong demonstrated HR management experience in manufacturing orientated organisation as the lead of a People & Culture function or in a Strategic People & Culture Business Partner role at the very senior level within a large business.
- A global understanding of HR practices & policies in as many of the markets in which we operate as possible!
- Significant OD, talent development and change leadership experience.
