The purpose of this role is to be responsible for all aspects of tax compliance and accounting for our regional business including liaising with our premium funding and broking businesses, advisors and auditors.
Reporting into our Head of Tax - Asia-Pacific we are seeking an experienced Group Tax Manager to manage the tax reporting and compliance processes for the regional business. This role will include:
- Ensuring that all required taxation returns are prepared in compliance with various tax regulations (including maintenance of audit ready documents) and ensuring adequate provisions are made for the payment of taxes - including coordinating the lodgment of tax returns across Asia-Pacific and liaising with jurisdictional tax advisors;
- Formulating, implementing and maintaining regional tax procedures and policies;
- Assist Global Tax in managing the effective tax rate, supporting transfer pricing and intercompany charges etc. and preparation of the Local File;
- Providing regular advice to the business on the application of local taxes, levies and duties and employing and directing the services of professional tax consultants as required across the wider region;
- Advising on appropriate means to effectively reduce the incidence of tax by investigating opportunities and promoting tax awareness throughout the region;
- Assisting in the determination of the tax implications of proposed major transactions including mergers, acquisitions and other ad hoc projects;
- Providing insight of developments and the impact of new or proposed legislation, decisions, regulations and rulings in tax and related areas;
- Involvement in the event of audits, investigations or queries from revenue authorities;
- Direct/indirect supervision of tax accounting staff.
- Liaising with the ATO in relation to compliance issues and maintenance of the tax consolidated group

- CA/CPA qualification and/or tax professional qualification
- Demonstrated ability to apply practical examples
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build positive internal and external relationships at all levels and with all industries
- Experience in managing matters independently and working together collaboratively as part of a team
