u&u are supporting one of the best-known names in the insurance broking space with the hire of a Group Tax Manager, to be based in their Australian Head Office in Sydney.
About the Role
As Group Tax Manager, you will work closely with the regional tax lead and manage all areas of Tax Reporting & Compliance for the regional business, including:
- Ensure tax returns are prepared in compliance with global and local tax regulations, and ensure accurate provisioning of tax returns both in Australia and across the wider APAC region;
- Assist the overseas-headquartered Group Tax function with Transfer Pricing and intercompany charges;
- Actively 'Business Partner' with key stakeholders across the group, sourcing and providing advice on tax legislation;
- Liaising with the ATO in relation to tax audits and compliance issues; and
- Supervision of more junior members of the team.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, or a related area and hold either CA, CPA or legal qualifications;
- Be a high-performing Senior Manager within a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm, or alternatively have seasoned commercial experience;
- Strong communication skills, with proven experience of partnering with stakeholders inside and outside the tax environment; and
- Sound technical knowledge across both direct and indirect taxation.
