About our Team
The Kuranda Scenic Railway is such an iconic and unforgettable journey for our customers with spectacular waterfalls and picturesque scenery as you travel through 15 handmade tunnels and across 37 towering bridges whilst receiving exceptional customer service.
As a Guest Services Attendant you will be based in Freshwater however you will work on board our Kuranda Scenic Rail to provide exceptional customer service in either our Heritage Class or Gold Class service. On arrival at Kuranda Station, you will serve customers in our Gift Shoup and assist with providing food in our refreshment room prior to returning on the afternoon service.
Your direct line manager will be the Operation Coordinator Freshwater however whilst on board the train you will be directed by one of our Senior Guest Services Attendants and will work with up to five people in a non-airconditioned environment.

About the role:
• Create a memorable onboard customer service experience this includes ensuring that customers are travelling with valid tickets and are seated correctly
• Report any safety concerns to the Senior Guest Service Attendant
• Catering duties in our refreshment room at Kuranda Station or in our Gold Class service on board the Kuranda Scenic Railway
• General cleaning duties including ensuring that food hygiene practices are met

Roster / Hours
This is a permanent part-time opportunity which guarantees 53.6 hours per fortnight however depending on the needs of the business you may be required to work up to 76 hours per fortnight.
The hours are generally between 0745 to 1736 where you will be required to work on a rotating roster which will include weekends and public holidays.
About you:
Resilient and adaptable individual who thrives in a team and fast paced environment with exceptional customer service skills to provide a memorable experience. In addition to this you will have:
• Exceptional communication skills coupled with a customer focused attitude to ensure a positive experience with customers
• Previous customer service experience from catering or retail would be highly desirable
• Strong work ethic and willingness to go the ‘extra mile'
• A safety conscious attitude
• Food Hygiene Certificate - desirable
• Be prepared to work onboard in a non-airconditioned environment
Candidates will also need to obtain the below statement of attainment certificate prior to employment:
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB002 / SITHFAB021)
