Rise is hiring a new registered Behaviour Support Practitioner. As our newest Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing Behaviour Support services to our clients & providing & growing Rise services in line with the NDIS Practice Standards & Quality Indicators. This position demonstrates contemporary strengths-based practice at Rise and works with service delivery staff across multiple levels to enable staff to foster positive support practices as Rise delivers on the stated purpose of helping people live a great life.
This role is full-time; however, part-time hours will be considered for the right candidate. Full-time hours are Monday to Friday, working 7.6 hours per day between 8.00am to 6.00pm. You will be required to travel to various Rise locations as required, with some work from home.
A typical day could look like…
- Develop and implement Behaviour Support plans in line with NDIS funding for clients who choose Rise to deliver this service to them.
- Complete functional behaviour assessments.
- Work with all relevant parties, including clients, family members, guardians, and external providers to develop and implement Behaviour Support plans.
- Focus on person centred interventions that respond to the underlying functions and needs of the behaviour of concern, while safeguarding the dignity and quality of life of the clients who choose Rise to deliver this service to them.
- Provide expertise and advice to inform staff development of strengths-based positive support practices.
- Assist participants in addressing underlying causes of behaviours of concern or challenging behaviours in a way that reduces the occurrence and impact of these on their life.

- Registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards
- Commission (essential).
- Proven capability in developing, implementing, and monitoring Behaviour Support plans.
- Strong understanding of standards and legislation governing use of restrictive practices in Western Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to support others to build skills in contemporary person-centred support and to put these into practice to achieve positive outcomes for clients.
- Proven ability to work within NDIS funding environment.
- Ability to work both as part of a team and with a high level of independence and autonomy when required.
- Understanding and experience in the use of relevant assessment tools.
- Highly developed report writing and behavioural data analysis skills.

Appointments to this position will be subject to a NDIS Worker Screening Check / NDIS Worker Orientation Module / Working with Children Check / Registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
Costs for new checks will be covered and/or reimbursed by Rise.
