The Role
As the Head Chef of our flagship operation, you will be responsible for delivering a first-class service at all times to our guests. The Homestead caters for up to 20 guests at one time, the setting is private, high end yet intimate and welcoming. Interaction with guests; providing knowledge on their food is a must and your responsible for ensuring your team also work with the same passion and delivery.
Working across breakfast, lunch and dinner sittings you will be managing a brigade of 7. You will establish a menu that is using the best native ingredients and creating flavours our guests will talk about for years to come.
Duties
- Ensure the kitchen complies with sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Ensure the open kitchen and brigade looks presentable at all times
- Hands on whilst controlling and directing food preparation
- Foster a climate of cooperation and respect within the team
- Maintaining superior guest focus at the forefront of all activities
- Liaise with activities department and front of house to ensure a smooth service
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing a degustation or fine dining kitchen
- A passion for using fresh native ingredients and delighting guests
- Strong communication and feedback skills
- Ability to mentor, nurture and create a good working culture within team
- Sound knowledge of HACCP and ability to maintain cleanliness and food safety regulations
- Ability to interact with guests in a friendly, professional and informative manner
