We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team at our brand new, vibrant tapas-style restaurant and café. Located in the heart of Pelican Waters, our establishment will be renowned for its authentic Flavours, creative dishes, and welcoming atmosphere.
**Responsibilities:**
- Recruit a team that will enable us to reach the service standards and qualities we set ourselves
- Lead the kitchen team in all aspects of food preparation, ensuring high-quality dishes consistently.
- Design, develop, and execute innovative tapas-style menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and food costing to optimize profitability while maintaining quality standards.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, mentoring and developing kitchen staff.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
- Manage rosters and staffing within allowable budgets
**Requirements:**
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a similar upscale dining environment.
- Expertise in and a passion for tapas-style cooking.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Certification from a culinary institution is preferred.
