Since its inception 11 years ago, they have grown rapidly and sequentially, and now stand at 70 employees. With heavy investment made in recent years into improving its infrastructure, the business is now primed for it's next phase of strong growth. With excellent capacity for volume, the reliability of this brand has given them the pedigree to work with top tier businesses across Australia. In anticipation of a bouyant 2024, they are now seeking an experienced developer of new business to encourage the continuity of organic sales, as well as spearhead the continued growth of the organisation, proactively seeking lucrative new business with Tier 1/2 clientele.
About the role
The Head of Business Development will be pivotal to the expected growth of the organisation and will prove as the Sales ambassador for the business across the Eastern deaboard. The successful candidate will possess the proven ability to build and leverage from robust relationships in the Residential Construction space and be responsible for direct product sales, new Business Development, and execution of marketing strategies of the business. Using your acute industry knowledge, you will be able to follow and understand industry trends locally, as well as internationally, researcing business opportunities and viable income streams.
Responsibilities
- Prospect for potential new clients and increase client base. Map the decision makers within the client organisation.
- Have an in-depth knowledge of Business products and value proposition.
- Develop growth strategies and plans.
- Manage and retain relationships with existing clients.
- Build strong and lasting relationships with new clients.
- Negotiate with stakeholders.
- Identify and map business strengths and customer needs.
- Cold call as appropriate within your market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
- Planning of sales approaches.
- Participate in pricing.
- Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
- Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
- Forecast sales targets and KPI’s and ensure they are met.
- Ensure CRM system is updated daily to capture sales activity.
To be considered for the role, you will need to demonstrate
- A proven track record of success in acquiring new and repeat business within the Residential Construction market.
- A seasoned ability to solution sell, articulating value over price and seamlessly promoting the features and benefits of the organisations product.
- A history of significant sales growth, ideally you will have a robust network of contacts which you can immediately utilise and leverage from.
- A collaborative approach to working with your colleagues and an effective communicational style which fosters camaderie and ensures achievement of a common goal.
- An entrepreneurial mindset, with an instinctive ability to identify, engage and secure new market opportunities.
