Doomadgee State School are seeking applications for 2 Head of Department (Curriculum) to join their discrete school community. One position is permanent full-time and the second position is temporary full-time until 6 December 2024, unless otherwise determined.

Doomadgee State School is located within Far North West Queensland, a short one hour's air travel from Mount Isa and is nestled in the pristine wilderness of native title land. The school provides the essential service of Education to the 1200 strong community, predominantly made up of Gangalidda, Garrawa and Waanyi first peoples of Australia.
The school has a long tradition of positive outcomes since its establishment in the early 1970's, and is establishing itself as a place of supported teaching and learning within our community's cultural context. As a school we consider it an honour and a privilege to serve our community and provide a curriculum tailored to the individual that allows all students to reach their own individual potential.
About the Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Lead curriculum development aligned with school and departmental initiatives, ensuring consistency with the vision of the State Schools Division.
- Actively participate in delivering the school's vision, "Creating a Life of Choice," by collaborating with the leadership team to enhance educational experiences for K-10 students in our Discrete Community School.
- As a relational Instructional Leader, collaboratively design contextualized units of work that faithfully implement the Australian Curriculum V9, fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
- Support the teaching team in removing barriers to learning, and guide efforts to elevate LOA achievement for students by providing mentorship and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with the leadership team to ensure the quality of teaching and learning, contributing to the ongoing success of Doomadgee State School.
