About Dysart State School
Welcome to Dysart State School, situated in the coal fields of the Central Highlands. Our Western location in the Queensland tropics is a wonderful blend of country life with regional support services. Our community partnerships with the Isaac Council, BHP Billiton and Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) mining company provide additional learning opportunities for our students and staff.

About the Role
The HOD is responsible for building teacher capability in planning and enacting curriculum, inclusive practices, designing pedagogical approaches, and aligning all work to our annual improvement plan which is currently focussed on Literacy (including alignment of our reading framework to AC), Pedagogy (particularly Inquiry Learning) and Wellbeing with PBL well established in the school.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead the relevant curriculum areas or whole school program to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
Set high standards for student and staff performance.
Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
