About Us:
Sarina State High School is a regional school of approximately 830 students. The school is situated close to beautiful beaches, rainforest and is a short 25 minute drive to the city of Mackay.

About the Role:
The successful applicant will assume responsibility for the coordination of all sporting programs at all Year levels, including extra-curricular sport, Interschool sports, House sport, knockout sport and whole school sporting events. They will maintain a close working relationship with the HOD (Health), sports leaders, subject teachers and the School Leadership Team. They will work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/caregivers, to facilitate the sporting involvement and associated learning and personal development of students through participation in organised sporting events and extra-curricular activities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
* Develop and implement community engagement strategies and programs with other organisations, local businesses and nor for profit organisations.
* Liaise with external agencies (for example, indigenous support agencies) to support new arrivals and their families through integrating them into the new environment and incorporate the holistic needs of new students including academic, social and emotional.
* Embed socially just practices in daily school life through leadership in relation to student attendance and improved academic outcomes.
* Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students and staff within the region.
* Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the Team to achieve goals.
