Kenmore State High School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Head of Department - Student Services to join their executive leadership team. There are 6 Head of Department positions at Kenmore State High School, one for each Year level. This Head of Department - Student Services position will have a focus on Year 7 and involves working closely with students, parents and teachers to support students into and through their first year of secondary schooling. This is a temporary full-time position until 13 December 2024, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Lead initiatives that enhance the Engagement, Belonging, Wellbeing and Behaviour Support of every student in your Year Level.
- Work with the Student Support Services Team to provide support and intervention with students who are experiencing significant barriers in accessing their learning through academic, behaviour and/or social emotional engagement concerns.
- Implement Year Level Events in partnership with the Shadow Heads of Year for whole cohort activities to develop a sense of year-level identity and belonging (e.g. Year level assemblies, meaning projects and celebrations).
- Promote positive education (PERMAH) to embed practices that support every student to flourish in their education.
- Uphold the school values and expectations through your strong/excellent leadership skills.
- Liaise with parents, teachers and support staff of Year 7 students to provide support and guidance for students when needed.
