Job DescriptionThe
Head of Digital Analytics is responsible for the successful realisation of commercial outcomes from carsales’ digital data, in which they will:
- Develop and implement a long-term vision and strategy for Digital Analytics to support the organisational strategy
- Implement solutions for best-in-class practices to ensure accurate, reliable and well tracked and documented data can support the business
- Overseeing the collection, storage, management, quality, and protection of Digital data including maximising customer data and digital insights to support commercial outcomes
- Effectively communicating the status, value, and importance of Digital Analytics insights to executive members, leaders, and colleagues
- Build and evolve the short- (~3 month) and long-term (~12 month) roadmap for Digital Analytics platform capabilities, aligning with the overall data strategy and Carsales commercial roadmaps
- Creates cross-functional plans and works with Product, Marketing and Technology teams to embed into quarterly OKRs
- Consult with carsales’ Executive team and senior leaders to understand business needs and problems and translate into Digital Analytics solutions
- Develop and scale knowledge across Product, Marketing and Technology teams of relevant applications, big data solutions, and tools
- Lead the carsales-wide adoption of pragmatic best practices for solution management across the data lifecycle
- Own the Digital Analytics platform capabilities
- Recruit, develop and motivate a highly effective Digital Analytics team
QualificationsCritical to success in the role is the ability to operate in the liminal space between business, data and technical practice. Experience and skills required are:
- An all-of-business ownership mindset over siloed success; leading with high levels of personal integrity and accountability
- Proven track record of executing initiatives and capability build digital data and analytics sphere
- Demonstrated understanding of multi-channel and multi-product environments – including web and application based products and services
- Worked with leading Digital Analytics platforms including a solid understanding of Google Analytics, Adobe and similar web tracking and analytical platforms
- Knowledge of enterprise data platforms and the role of those platforms to support Digital Analytics (ideally Snowflake or common data warehouse or enterprise data platforms) - helpful but not mandatory
- Knowledge of supporting capabilities to Digital Analytics such as Customer Data platforms and reverse ETL solutions
- Ability to guide outcomes for teams at all layers of web technology stack – source data systems, web tracking & data layers, integration to channel and Digital Analytics platforms
- Demonstrated experience in the commercial application of Digital Analytics within organisations to support revenue and business growth
- Demonstrated understanding of regulatory and privacy concerns related to Digital Analytics and emerging First party data strategies
- Ability to use data insights to influence people and embed change
- Active listening and the ability to understand motivations, challenges and opportunities
- Strong negotiation and the ability to hold effective negotiations across functions to navigate commercial, technical and human trade-offs
- Experienced leading in Agile/Scrum-based working environments / disciplines
