In the role of Head of Finance for Retail Prodigy Group you will be of this and more while representing leading global brands Nike, Samsung & Mattel!
Retail Prodigy Group holds the master Retail Franchise for NIKE Stores across Australia and New Zealand. RPG owns and operates 40 Nike Branded Stores including Flagships in George St, Sydney, Melbourne Central and Auckland City. Alongside our partnership with NIKE we are the lead Retail Operations partner for SAMSUNG experience stores with 12 Stores across Australia. More recently we have joined forces with Mattel as their digital direct to customer retail partner in Australia.
Reporting to the CEO, you will take accountability for overseeing all Retail Prodigy Group financial activities, improving financial performance and providing strategic guidance to support the long-term company goals.
As the Head of Finance, you will do this by providing accurate analysis of the companies financial position, activities and financial strategy to continually strive to improve performance of the business. You will be responsible for leading the Finance, Payroll and Loss Prevention team at RPG whilst partnering with the Brand General Managers, Store Operations, Marketing and People and Culture teams.
About the Role:
As the Head of Finance you will leverage your love of Retail and Finance to drive industry best Experiences for our team and customers. You will be able to recognise amazing performance, and also areas of opportunity. With these observations you will identify causation, take learnings and drive improvement.
More specifically you will be responsible for the following:
- Financial & Statutory reporting – monthly P&L reporting by brand, quarterly Balance Sheet and P&L forecasting by month for balance of financial year
- Managing the annual company audit process
- Ensuring all expenses are managed in line with forecast and result is achieved
- Ensuring on time lodgement and payment of statutory requirements
- Preparing and presenting an Annual budget to the CEO and company board, including P&L, Cash and Capex
- Company cash flow management, including maintaining full year forecast of cash balance
- Ensuring your team are achieving on time and accurate payment to suppliers
- Reviewing company bank reconciliation and ensuring adequate investigation of discrepancies and ensuring open to buy is accurately forecasted and in line with store capacity
- Ensuring the Finance team operations support the business future plans and strategy
- Supporting fellow leaders and key stakeholders with improvements of their functions
- Obsess succession, development and retention of Diverse Talent across within your function. Proactively planning for resource requirements, through resource and succession planning
- Leading a team and partnering with RPG leadership team to drive achievement of our business plan and 3 year strategy
To be successful in this role you have:
- A passion for retail and experience working in a high growth and mid-size business
- Experience working with boards, managing cash flow and bank relationships
- Ideally experience within a retail/consumer/FMCG setting with a group approach to growing portfolio of businesses
- Proven ability to identify process improvement opportunities and then execute them in a sustainable way
- Creative problem-solving skills with an ability to drive quick decision making to produce action to changing conditions
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with ability to multi-task/prioritise daily work
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, collaboration, and interpersonal skills - with a strong people first mindset and service focused orientation
- CA / CPA qualification required
- Working knowledge of Pronto ERP and Retail will be highly regarded
