As the Head of People and Culture you will be responsible for all matters across Human Resources, including Employee Relations (ER), Learning and Development (L&D) and the promotion of innovative and strategic initiatives that promote continuous improvement, positively impacting the overall team culture.
This role will sit on the senior leadership team and will play a pivotal role in fostering and maintaining the organisations culture, while bringing new ideas to generate positive change.
This is a newly created role to join a well-recognised brand in the creative industry. They have a very low staff turnover and a very positive company culture.
Key responsibilities:
- Offer comprehensive support in managing staff performance, including advice, mediation, and overseeing appraisal processes
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes
- Spearhead the development, implementation, and management of HR policies, procedures, and documentation, including systems supporting staff career pathways and HR structures aligned with the organisational strategy
- Implement staff orientation/induction programs
- Work closely with payroll to ensure they are compliant with Award requirements.
- Manage workers' compensation claims and advise staff on Award terms and conditions to maintain compliance with employment law
- Cultivate organisational culture and gather feedback from staff and students. Conduct exit interviews, surveys, and performance reviews.
- Develop career paths, offer coaching, and promote staff wellbeing
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, update staff on changes, and provide coaching on legislative requirements
- Coordinate staff training programs and oversee professional development initiatives for support staff
- Collaborate with the CEO to implement employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives
- Reporting and other Adhoc duties as required
- Previous experience in a HR Generalist role
- Proven success investigating and resolving employee relations issues in a timely and effective manner in accordance with policies and employment law
- A broad understanding and application of learning and development practices across leadership, performance and capability development
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and promote positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Commitment to the continuous development of staff and the promotion of a positive team culture aligned with organisational values
- Tertiary Qualifications in HR or a related discipline
- Excellent communication skills, high levels of confidentiality and the ability to build strong relationships earning trust and credibility
