About Us:

Our Projects and Development Services (PDS) team provide corporate and institutional clients with the management of design, construction and relocation services to minimise risk and eliminate unnecessary cost.

Projects range from greenfield developments to major fit-outs and refurbishments, from single one-off projects to state, national multi-site and regional roll-out projects requiring consistent nationwide delivery.

As one of the largest project management firms in Australia with a team of over 320 professional staff, we operate in sectors including commercial, industrial, education, data centres, hotels, retail and defence.

About the role:

JLL is seeking a State Manager to lead the Brisbane-based team. You will lead the PDS team by winning and overseeing work in various sectors, ensuring financial, commercial, safety and people management objectives are met whilst overseeing a growth strategy for the PDS Business.

Responsibilities will include,

  • In conjunction with Country/City Sector Leaders and Regional Leadership develop and implement a State-specific plan which aims to improve JLL's market share, clarify JLL's product offering and improve JLL revenues and margins. Prior to the annual budget cycle, with Sector leaders, qualify and quantify market opportunities within your State for the planning process.

  • Working under direction from Regional Hub and Business Development Directors, ensure all Business Development activities within State are strictly coordinated.

  • Working in conjunction with JLL and PDS colleagues assist with the identification of the potential new business.

  • Working with the sector teams ensures client expectations have been realistically set and that client satisfaction is measured against them.

  • Manage and proactively participate in all aspects of business development

  • Ensure projects are resourced and managed through successful completion

  • Working with PDS senior managers and Country/City sector leaders, ensure a value-adding, commercially sound budget is set for the State

  • Monitor and manage the State's budget, ensuring that appropriate and timely feedback is given on slippage and opportunities across the state PnL

  • Ensure all project proposals are within JLL/PDS profit and legal compliance guidelines.

  • Be responsible for ensuring the PDS state teams comply with PDS governance guidelines

About you:

  • Demonstrates the ability to think broadly, create a shared vision and embrace change as an opportunity.

  • Demonstrates integrity, personal responsibility, initiative and the ability to energise, persuade and influence others; fosters creativity, innovation and teamwork

  • Adeptly manage client relationships & maintain the highest professional standards

  • Proven experience in Financial management, people management, and commercial success.

  • Research, develop and pitch powerful RFPs that are profitable, achievable, add value for clients and have high internal support.

  • Proven experience working at a senior level with demonstrated success in Business development in a multi-national company over diverse geography.

  • BSc/BA or postgraduate level studies, trade qualification, higher diploma or membership of the specific professional body requiring qualification criteria.

  • Have held a change leadership role involving business-wide processes and procedures. Should have experience in developing the knowledge capital, delivering the subsequent hands-on communications and the stamina for guaranteeing success through review.
