The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Projects will assume a pivotal role in the business, at a critical time of its development. The primary focus will be to combine strategic leadership, project management, governances, relationship-building, and financial acumen as well as delivering energy storage solutions in Australia.
Main Purpose of the role:
- To work closely and collaborate with the Managing Director and key management teams to achieve the business strategy and targets.
- To provide leadership to the teams to deliver new energy storage products for the Australian renewable energy industry.
- To ensure long term sustainability of the business, through effective governance and delivery of our products and services.
- To provide the leadership to deliver the agreed vision, strategy values and specific objectives of EVO Power by: - Assisting in the development of the project delivery plans.
- Developing existing and building new relationships with relevant clients, business partners and government agencies.
- Negotiating and closing profitable contracts in accordance with the business plan and agreed margin / cost / volume targets.
- Identifying and exploiting new business opportunities that are in line with the business strategy and targets of EVO Power.
Key Responsibilities:
Principal Responsibilities
- Manage projects by delivering extraordinary levels of customer satisfaction throughout their project journey with EVO Power.
- Schedule and attend weekly / fortnightly / monthly meetings with key customer contacts & communicate project progress and delivery timelines.
- Strong Leadership and co-ordination of team members.
- Assist with the management of office resources and staff, in order to meet the agreed plan and strategies of the Business.
- Ensure financial targets are achieved.
- Source and develop new business opportunities.
- Ensure client satisfaction.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and direction to junior and senior staff within the framework of Employment Law.
Additional Tasks:
- Attend all necessary internal & external meetings, conferences and functions as required.
- Work with the sales team to process and manage project deliveries.
- Submit monthly report on all strategic activities, negotiations, and industry development.
- Adhere to critical ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 processes.
- Manage trading agreements (including negotiations) between EVO Power & OEMs, ensuring profit maximization for & risk minimization to EVO Power.
- Report incidents and near misses to the HSEQ Supervisor or the Compliance Officer.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Experience managing project-orientated teams.
- At least five years’ experience in the renewable energy industry is crucial. This may include working in roles such as a project manager, or in a leadership capacity within the renewable energy sector.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or project management or a related discipline or a master’s in project management, is highly preferable.
- A project management certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 to demonstrate your expertise in managing projects effectively, is desirable.
- Experience as a Project Director within the manufacturing industry desirable.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Have the right to work in Australia (required).

IMS Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the IMS conforms to the requirements of AS/NZS ISO 9001, AS/NZS ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
- Ensure that the processes are delivering their intended outputs.
- Report on the performance of the IMS and on opportunities for improvement to top management.
- Ensure the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization.
- Ensure that the integrity of the IMS is maintained.
- Coordinate the identification, development, implementation, and review of Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Assist Manager or Supervisor in the identification, assessment, and selection of measures to control hazards and risks.
- Assist Manager or Supervisor in monitoring and evaluating hazards and risk control measures.
- Assist Manager or Supervisor in the identification, development, and provision of appropriate quality, environmental and health and safety related information, instruction, and training.
- Assist Manager or Supervisor to effectively consult with workers.
- Ensure that all nonconformities are investigated, their causes found, that steps are taken to prevent a recurrence, and that everybody who needs to be told about it is told.
- Monitor and advise on legislative and technical changes.
- Monitor and provide regular reports to your manager and on the Company’s performance.
- Support workers to follow policies and processes developed.
- Provide information to employees on the IMS.
- Ensure that all direct reportees receive training, instruction, and information to enable them to perform their work.
- Communicate the company’s Quality, Work Health and Safety, and Environmental policies and processes to all employees.
- Responsible for communicating risks and responsibilities for the integrated management system.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety.
- Report any quality, safety and environmental incident or hazards to the relevant Compliance team member.
- Keep informed of the contents of the integrated management system and apply it to daily work.
- Ensure you are not affected by alcohol or drugs, to endanger your own or any other persons’ health and safety.
- Take part in the Management Review Meeting chaired by the Managing Director.
