Head of Strategic Account Management - Pharmaceutical Industry

We are thrilled to be partnering with a leading global pharmaceutical company that is experiencing significant growth. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join the team as the Head of Strategic Account Management. With a commitment to innovation and excellence, they have established themselves as a trusted partner in providing cutting-edge healthcare solutions.

Position Overview: Currently looking for a highly motivated and strategic leader to take on the role of Head of Strategic Account Management. In this key position, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of four Strategic Account Managers across Australia. These SAMs play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining partnerships with key stakeholders in hospitals throughout the country.

Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of four Strategic Account Managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  2. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement Strategic Account Management plans to drive growth and maximize opportunities within the hospital sector.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in hospitals, understanding their needs and gaps within the hospital and how the team can support them.
  4. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments such as sales, marketing, market access, medical affairs etc to ensure a unified approach in meeting customer needs.
  5. Performance Management: Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the team, ensuring objectives are met and exceeded.
  6. Market Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify new opportunities and potential challenges.
  7. Budget Management: Work closely with the finance department to manage and allocate budgets effectively, ensuring optimal utilization of resources.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  2. Must have at least 3 years of Australian work experience in the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry.
  3. Must have very strong Strategic Account Management experience.
  4. Demonstrated leadership experience with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  5. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities.
  7. Experience working with key stakeholders in hospitals.
