Assessors are Health and Allied Health Professionals who work with Services Australia customers.
This is a customer focused role, with assessors using their professional knowledge and skills to assess people with medical, psychological or social barriers to employment. Assessments are conducted by telephone, video chat and face to face.
Assessors will:
review people’s capacity to work, assess medical eligibility for Services Australia payments, and refer people to employment service programs.
use their judgement, skills and knowledge to interpret and apply government policy and guidelines to decision making.
use a variety of information and communication technologies (ICT) to communicate and document their work and decisions.
manage their work in the context of changing priorities and practices.
Assessors may work in a virtual team or across multiple sites within a reasonable travel distance.
Assessors can be exercise physiologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, registered nurses, speech pathologists, rehabilitation counsellors or social workers.
