As the WHS Manager, you will manage a small team of specialists, overseeing the Safety Management System and the WHS Risk Register. Your leadership will be crucial in delivering the Safety Matters improvement program, enhancing safety outcomes, promoting a proactive safety culture, and reducing financial costs.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage policies, procedures, processes, and standards to ensure all employees and contractors understand their safety responsibilities.
- Regularly review and update the risk profile of the business to ensure up-to-date safety measures.
- Develop and implement targeted initiatives to continually improve safety performance and promote a safety culture.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Lead the implementation of systems, processes, and procedures to ensure legal compliance and support risk management.
- Conduct training sessions on health and safety matters, investigate accidents or incidents, and recommend solutions for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with Victorian legislation and communicate any legislative
Skills & Competencies
- 6 + years of experience in Work, Health & Safety related roles
- Proven ability to lead a team and influence senior leaders and stakeholders to drive safety improvements.
- Experience in driving cultural and behavioural change in complex environments.
- Proficient in inspections, audits, risk assessments, and data management.
- Strong understanding of high-risk activities and contractor management.
- Excellent observational, communication, and organisational skills.
