The Infrastructure Directorate is the City of Stirling’s largest and most diverse Directorate, managing many of the City’s important assets and services while delivering a multi-million-dollar portfolio of projects.
This Directorate is responsible for the ongoing delivery of the City’s sustainability program, as well as contributing heavily to the City of Stirling’s vibrant local economy, liveable neighbourhoods and thriving communities.
About the Position
The City of Stirling is currently seeking a Horticultural Services Operator to provide attractive, safe, and well-maintained parks, streetscapes, public places, and environments that enables quality urban life while protecting and conserving sustainable natural and urban environments. To improve city–wide sustainability outcomes by providing services and support to the City and community.
You will be working within a small team environment, undertaking landscape maintenance of streetscapes and facilities, within Parks and Sustainability Business Unit including operating and maintaining minor plant items, tree and shrub cultivation, tree and shrub planting, mulching, mow or edge established lawns, and general gardening duties.
About You
- Year 10 Certificate.
- A “C” class driver’s licence
- Previous recent experience in gardening in the same or a similar role working in an amenity horticulture environment.
- Active listening skills and verbal skills.
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment including a good knowledge of safety.
- Ability to understand or be willingness to understand and implement road traffic controls in accordance with traffic guidance schemes.
- Current National Police Clearance (under 3 months).
- Basic Worksite Traffic Management Accreditation would be considered advantageous.

This permanent, full-time position is a Level 5 Outside Workforce Agreement position attracts a salary range of $68,405 - $71,518 per annum.
