About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Hotel Accountant to join our team at Hyatt House South Melbourne. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient financial operation of the hotel. Working closely with the General Manager and Select Corporate Finance Director, you will manage all financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial processes.
Responsibilities
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Assisting the Select Corporate Finance Director with the preparation of the annual Finance Business Plan, ensuring it addresses the business objectives of the hotel and the needs of employees.
- Regularly updating the Hotel Budget in close cooperation with the General Manager and Select Corporate Finance Director to ensure targets are met and costs are effectively controlled.
- Maximizing associate productivity through multi-skilling, multi-tasking, and flexible scheduling to meet financial goals and guest expectations.
- Ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial reports requested by government or other parties.
- Assisting internal MOR audits and external audits, reviewing audit reports, and ensuring smooth audit processes.
- Reviewing the terms and conditions of vendor contracts and credit facilities, obtaining necessary approvals to ensure accuracy and reasonableness.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is highly preferred.
- Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with all stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
- Knowledge of local market financial regulations and compliance requirements.
