The role of Hotspots Program Coordinator is a part of the Environmental Services team which has a focus on supporting environmental approvals for bush fire hazard reduction activities across NSW. This role coordinates the Hotspots programme, which is a community engagement programme to equip landholders with the skills and knowledge to actively participate in undertaking planned burns on their property for bush fire protection and biodiversity outcomes. In this programme, landholders learn from fire authorities, public land managers, ecologists and other relevant organisations, and develop a fire management plan for their property along with observing demonstration burns. The role includes supporting Hotspots officers and working closely with a range of external stakeholders including the Nature Conservation Council of NSW (our partner in this programme).
As our ideal candidate, you will have experience in:
- Coordinating community engagement programmes with on-ground delivery components
- Fire management and ecological assessments
- Managing administrative processes associated with programme delivery
