About the M1 South - Blackhill to Tomago project: A joint venture between John Holland and Gamuda Australia has been selected by Transport for NSW to deliver the M1 Pacific Motorway extension to Raymond Terrace Southern Package - a key missing link in one of the country's busiest transport corridors. The $1.029 billion southern package will deliver a 10-kilometre dual carriageway motorway extension between Black Hill and Tomago. There will be 8 bridges that include a 2.6km viaduct and new congestion-busting interchanges at Black Hill, Tarro and Tomago. About the role: The M1 to Raymond Terrace Project team are currently looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join the team, based in Tarro, NSW. Approximately 30 minutes from Newcastle CBD. Reporting to the People Manager, you'll be responsible to provide guidance and advice to the project to ensure that all people management activities are conducted in accordance with legislative and policy frameworks and are consistent with business and project requirements. This includes but is not limited to recruitment, on-boarding, training & development, performance management, remuneration, cultural diversity, and IR/ER matters. Responsibilities of the role include: Provide recommendations to the People Manager in the implementation of HR strategies Provide support and advice to leaders and employees on all workplace relations matters Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures, in alignment with current legislation and HR management practices (as directed by the People Manager) Oversee the full range of people management activities for recruitment, selection, and appointment of staff for the project Supervise the on-boarding process and induction training for new employees Recommend strategies to enhance the performance management process Provide recommendations on salary benchmarking and remunerations packages Lead the implementation of the project engagement strategy and coordinate initiatives with the support of the People Team Provide data, information and progress reports related to human resource activities to support continuous improvement Supervise the People Graduate, helping to build the team's capability To be successful in this key role, you must have: Degree or higher in Business, Human Resource Management, Legal, Finance or other associated disciplines; or Post-secondary school training or TAFE certificate in HR, IR/ER, Education, Psychology or Business; or Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a human resources advisory role Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of national and state regulatory frameworks Knowledge of employment legislation, including government policy Experience in HR project work, leading an initiative or desired outcomeExperience managing a subordinate, such as a HR Administrator or HR Coordinator (desired) What's in it for you when you join the John Holland Gamuda Joint Venture: Your success is reflected in ours, so we're committed to being an employer of choice.
