The HR Business Partner contributes to ensuring that Diabetes Australia has a capable, engaged and productive workforce fit to deliver its strategic and operational goals, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and industrial requirements
Responsible for strategically partnering with their portfolio to drive employee engagement, build leadership capability and, alongside the People Services team, operationalise the annual people plan.
- Work closely with the Chief People Officer to inform and deliver people strategies for Diabetes Australia targeting employee engagement and alignment, culture enhancement, leadership capability development, and workforce and resource optimsation.
- Work in partnership with the portfolio to understand the business unit operations to ensure delivery of the strategic people plan and activities that are aligned with the business objectives.
- Provide coaching and assistance to managers on people policies, practices, plans, risks and/or issues, supporting them to make effective decisions about their workforces and workplaces.
- Act as a trusted advisor to management and employees within the portfolio and broader organisation.
- Use data and analysis (contemporary HR practices, labour market, workforce requirements, etc.) to identify and escalate workforce risks and opportunities and contribute to an insight-driven HR approach.
- Coordinate and/or contribute to the development and implementation of key people management processes and practices, including remuneration and benefits, performance management, learning and development and employee relations to ensure they reflect best practice and are aligned with organisation requirements.
- Educate managers to enable them to manage their people in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, practices and values.
- Implement and continue to improve the HR governance approach, processes, cadences; ensuring that projects, initiatives, services and capability comply with relevant legislation and Diabetes Australia policies and procedures and values.
- Deliver and evolve accurate and timely people reporting to the organisation.
- Be a leading example of the principles and values embodied in the Diabetes Australia's Code of Conduct, and behave, act and communicate at all times to reflect fairness, ethics and professionalism.
- Tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline (Business, Human Resources) or equivalent experience.
- Considerable experience performing in a HRBP role.
- Proven ability to work agilely and effectively respond to changing environments.
- Demonstrate commercial acumen and delivery of successful change management programs.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship, development and emotional intelligence skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task requests.
- Proven ability to consult, negotiate and influence others and managing competing priorities and expectations.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively in HR and/or payroll systems and identifying continuous opportunities for improvement.
- Thorough understanding of the interpretation and application of the Fair Work Act and industrial instruments.
