The Recruiting Portfolio within the Human Resources Command (HRC) of Victoria Police consists of a number of units responsible for attraction and recruitment functions within Victoria Police. The portfolio is made up of the following teams:
Police Custody Officer (PCO) Employment Team:
The Police Custody Officer Employment Team is a collaborative and high functioning team that oversee the end-to-end recruitment process for Police Custody Officers across 22 different locations and Supervising PCO Recruitment across 15 different locations.
Recruiting Services Branch (RSB):
Recruiting Services Branch is a dynamic unit that facilitate the screening and selection of the new generation of Police Officers and Protective Services Officers for Victoria Police and play an integral role in recruiting to our organisation. Victorian Public Servant (VPS) Recruitment:
VPS Recruitment is a vital component of the organisation focused on providing assistance and advice to all areas of the organisation for the recruitment, selection and employment of Victorian Public Service employees. The VPS Recruitment team assist managers to fill vacancies efficiently and effectively by providing best practice guidance, information resources and tools.
Talent Programs and Attraction (TAP) Team: The Talent Programs and Attraction Team are responsible for the attraction of prospective applicants for Police, Protective Service Officer and Police Custody Officer roles within Victoria Police.

Your duties will include:
- End to end recruitment activities, reviewing and assessing application suitability and making recommendations to management.
- Researching and vetting applicant suitability.
- Analysing information and probing for facts.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders; providing professional advice and ensuring HR policies are adhered to, to make an equitable assessment of applications.
- Coordinating, assisting and conducting selection interviews and selection report writing.
- Applying current recruitment legislation, policies and procedures in a best practice environment.
- Updating and maintaining internal databases for reporting and analysis purposes.
- Participating in the review and/or amendment of recruitment processes and systems.
- Providing written advice and recommendations for senior stakeholders' consideration.
- Assisting in planning Assessment Day testing centres and associated administrative duties.
- Well-developed interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to provide high level customer focused service in a recruitment function.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High level attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience within managing an end-to-end recruitment function.
- Ability to draw inferences from various sources to make a recommendation.
- Proven track record in interpreting and applying recruitment legislation, policies and procedures.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and have attention to detail.
- An understanding of Victoria Police Intelligence assessment tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work cohesively in a team.
- Highly- developed organisation and time management skills.
- Have the ability to be flexible, work collaboratively, independently and effectively.
- The ability to monitor and manage stakeholder satisfaction, ensuring positive outcomes for both the stakeholder and the organisation.
- Demonstrated record of strong commitment and achievement in meeting customer needs.
- Various ongoing and fixed term positions available across the recruiting portfolio teams.
- A Certificate IV in a Fitness or Health related field or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Occasional travel, overnight stays and weekends may be required for some roles to assist with the delivery of assessment centres and panel interviews.

- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
