Bowen Rail Company is growing its Human Resources team. We are seeking an HR Specialist to join our team in Bowen. In this role, you will bring deep generalist experience from working across the breadth of HR disciplines and provide specialist support into strategic and operational HR initiatives across the employee lifecycle. Along with the ability to provide generalist HR support, the HR Specialist brings a HR-leading practice mindset to support the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, policy/procedure development, and continuous improvement initiatives including the ongoing optimisation of payroll / HR systems, compliance, and governance.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support generalist HR duties as required, specifically in key areas of partnering and coaching on performance management and disciplinary matters.
- Supports the HR team with the implementation of operational change management initiatives, including but not limited to, organisation structure changes, culture enhancement initiatives (including reward and recognition), and operational changes that require HR partnering.
- Works with the HR team to support the development/implementation of key organisational development initiatives including employment branding, workforce planning, succession, and talent management frameworks.
- Works with the HR and training teams to develop HR-related training modules and packages. This encompasses, but is not limited to onboarding, policy/procedures, code of conduct, systems, recruitment for leaders, and performance management.
- Supports projects and change management initiatives with governance and support tools, including assisting with communications development.
- Undertakes end-to-end review of policies, procedures, templates, tools, and assurance, developing and implementing HR governance framework.
- Reviews, develops, and implements payroll and HRIS assurance framework.
- Support the development of reporting mechanisms to monitor and report on HR governance and compliance.
- Working with the HR team, supporting the ongoing improvements and optimisation of payroll and HR systems and processes.
Should you ASPIRE to join our team, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources / related disciplines.
- 7 + years experience with solid experience as an HR generalist experience, as well as demonstrated specialty skills in policy development, systems, and payroll.
- Computer proficient (Advanced Microsoft Office, HRIS systems).
- Demonstrated change leadership experience.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and professional presentation skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive information with discretion, and display exceptional collaboration skills.
- Ability to commute across Bowen Rail Company site locations to support business requirements.
