HSE Advisor WA Site(s)
Start - mid July, ongoing projects.
Initially FIFO.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee day-to-day safety on site
- Promote and encourage a positive health and safety culture
- Intervene on unsafe acts or behaviours
- Responsible for WHS on site and inform employees of specific safety requirements in absence of Project Manager
- Implement Site Safety Rules and Instructions
- Implementation of HSE documentation on site (HSEMP, SWMS, policies etc)
- Assess work areas and report to Site Manager any change in site conditions or possible unsafe aspects
- Liaise with client and contractor representatives
- Review, update and implement Safe Work Method Statements for high-risk construction works
- Conduct Pre-Start Meetings and Toolbox talks
- Conduct site specific safety induction/briefing & review of WHS Plan including emergency procedures and muster points
- Arrange/Attend HSE meetings as required
- Communicate lessons learned with the site team and develop appropriate actions plans
- Facilitate risk assessment studies with the project management team and Client
- Maintain site safety statistics- weekly and monthly reports
- Conduct site inspections and task-based assessments, report findings and ensure the implementation of corrective actions as required
- Manage incident reports and investigations in consultation with the Project Management team to meet company and Client requirements
- Assist with injury management processes and implement return to work plans
- Participate in safety management system audits
- Ensure the Plant Pre-Start checks are completed. Advise Site Manager of any defects/problems
- Regular inspections on mobile plant including mobilising and demobilising checklists
- Ensure all operators VOC certification or licences/certificates are valid
- Conduct training exercises through task and tool SOP’s and VOC assessment as required per the Training Need Analysis and Verification of Competency Procedure
- Monitor and review safety plans, procedures and standards
- Ensure compliance of Pilecom Safety Management Systems and national and local legislation
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience working on site in project based roles will be advantageous
- Solar Project experience advantageous
- Capable of working autonomously
- Certificate IV or Diploma (Health and Safety)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment preferred
- A minimum of 2 years HSE experience
- Knowledge of OH&S / WHS and/or Environmental legislation
- Report / Document writing
- Independent thinker and self-motivated
- Will be prepared to work away from home for long periods of time
