Our client is an international offshore construction company, that has a base in Perth. Their work covers a broad range of technical disciplines, including mechanical, process, electrical, hydrodynamic and reliability engineering.
We require a Health, Safety and Environment Advisor with significant experience in overseeing the safe implementation of construction in the Oil and Gas industry.
You will be the Main HSE interface within the company’s teams proving HSE standards, requirements and best practices exceed agreed-upon expectations for HSE performance with the support of management.
Key responsibilities are including but not limited to:
- Craft, implement, oversee and support the policies, goals, efforts and programs of the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental Management System.
- Initiate and participate in the identification of HAZIDS/HAZOPS and risk assessments for all workpacks and project activities;
- Conduct work place inspections, monitor operations and work tasks on an ongoing basis to ensure safe operations;
- Identify safety issues ensuring corrective action is taken and monitored;
- Conduct regular audits as specified on the HSE and Performance Assurance Plan;
- Participate and contribute in all safety initiatives and programmes;
- Identify training requirements and create in house training schedules programmes for enhancement of safety on board;
- Provide HSE advice and support to all parties off and on shore in a support capacity;
- Compiling the weekly and monthly HSE Reports for management or as required;
- Manage compliance with HSE plans, legislation, other HSE initiatives and raise amendments/improvements and report on compliance;
- To create a positive and engaging environment towards safety and training.
To be considered you will possess…
- Ten years’ experience in a generalist safety, training or HSE role;
- Familiarisation with occupational health and safety management and Australian offshore legislation requirements;
- Formal qualifications in occupational health and safety, environmental or engineering disciplines;
- BOSIET and/or HUET Training desired.
