On the University of Queensland Electrical Maintenance Contract, UGL is the lead contractor for preventative and corrective maintenance, and project work on various UQ sites throughout QLD. Based at UQ’s St Lucia campus, you will enjoy working with a friendly and collaborative team.
The Opportunity
In this newly created role as the HSEQ Advisor, you have the opportunity to shape, develop, and cultivate a new era in safety culture, guided by our unique One HSE Culture Framework. Whilst being mentored by our highly experienced HSE Operations Manager.
Drawing on your electrical experience you'll play a key role in providing advice and support to the Operational Leaders with a focus on HV & LV electrical risk management. This hands-on, onsite role enables you to engage with direct staff and subcontractors offering HSEQ leadership with a continuous improvement approach.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and cultivate a safety culture in alignment with UGL's One HSE Culture Framework
Lead and mentor Operational Teams, focusing on best practices for risk mitigation
Develop and monitor HSE KPIs, in consultation with Operational Leaders
Implement tailored safety programmes and initiatives
Investigate and report on worksite incidents according to UGL and client procedures
Requirements to be successful
Diploma in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or equivalent
Trade Qualified Electrician or Electrical Engineer with experience in risk management on HV & LV Electrical Networks
Thorough knowledge of Electrical Legislation, Code of Practice, AS3000, Arc Flash & Electrical Safety Audits
Proficiency in MS Office, especially in Excel
Exceptional communication skills
Cert IV in Training and Assessment is a plus
