Role:
The HSEQ Manager will directly report to the Managing Director and play a pivotal role in instating and advancing The Electrical Co. Australia's HSE management system. You'll also facilitate management and staff in maintaining company certifications, leading the internal audit initiative. Drawing on your substantial experience and operational acumen, you'll oversee, evaluate, advise, and execute enhancements for the company's HSE Management System.
Responsibilities:
- Develop SWMS for high-risk construction tasks across all projects.
- Create Inspection and Test Plans as required by clients.
- Attend weekly management meetings.
- Offer guidance on WHS and legal obligations to Management and Workers.
- Participate in Client meetings as per Management's instructions.
- Conduct site inspections for Safety, Quality, and Environmental objectives.
- Serve as the primary contact for incident reporting and coallating the reports.
- Drive the development, implementation, and maintenance of upgraded HSE management systems encompassing compliance, assurance, and reporting processes.
- Spearhead the execution of HSEMS organisational compliance through validation.
- Supervise the formulation of the HSEMS assurance program, steering the HSE audit protocol and program.
- Initiate the establishment of the HSE monitoring and measurement system, incorporating HSE metrics, analytics, and reports for informing the organisation and clients about HSE performance.
- Formulate and revise policies, procedures, and systems, collaborating with management, clients, and key stakeholders to address challenging assurance issues.
- Utilise outcomes from the HSE assurance program, including HSE monitoring and measurement, for consistent management reviews of the HSE Management System (HSEMS) to ensure ongoing adequacy, relevance, and suitability.
- Manage the company's Certification for ISO 9001, 14001, 45001.
- Create and present reports on WHS matters, events, and outcomes to Company Management and clients.
- Organise storage of HSE documentation for precise document control, ensuring easy access to up-to-date Group HSE information.
- Promote and enhance employee engagement through key initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to the company's HSE KPIs.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum of Certificate IV in WHS.
- At least 7 years of experience in HSE management systems.
- Proven adeptness in interpreting legislation, regulatory standards, codes of practice, and internationally recognised HSE standards such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001.
- Demonstrated track record of instigating impactful HSE changes in team culture aligned with the organisation's strategic direction.
- Proven ability to drive organisational change, adapting strategies, goals, and priorities to cultivate health, safety, and environmental culture transformation.
- Lead Auditor qualification in OH&S Management Systems, Environmental Management Systems, and/or Quality Management Systems.
- Incident investigation qualifications, e.g., ICAM.
